Yogurt and Cucumber Dip (Mast-o-Khiar) Recipe

This is a simple, healthy and delicious side dish. Mast-o-khiar is one of the most traditional and popular dishes and is served with most Iranian meals.
Ingredients:
Serves 4
2 cups plain yogurt
1 large seedless cucumber, finely chopped
1 tablespoon dried mint
1 teaspoon dried rose petals *optional
Salt and pepper to taste
Method:
In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients, mix thoroughly and adjust the seasoning.
Place the yogurt mixture in a serving bowl, garnish with dried or fresh mint and dried rose petals.
Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving .
* You may add a tablespoon of chopped walnuts, a handful of raisins, 1 tablespoon grated onion (discard the juice) and 1 teaspoon minced garlic for a more rich and tasty mast-o-khiar.
